Victor Cruz is one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the NFL, and we were lucky enough to talk with him a few days before the Giants beat the Oakland Raiders. (Could that just be a coincidence, or are we just good luck?) He told us about the Giants’ involvement with Movember, the most bizarre athletic superstition he’s ever heard/smelled, and why you don’t wanna be at the bottom of the pile during a fumble. This past Sunday, a YouTube user decided to surprise his father, a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan, who’d never been to Paul Brown Stadium because he lives in Connecticut. So, the son started off by presenting an official Bengals hat and jersey signed by Andy Dalton, followed by game and airline tickets to see the Bengals play the Jets in Ohio.
The dad fought through tears, and you’ll possibly do the same. (It’s OK, guys can and should get emotional over football.) You might never be able to repay your father for all he’s done for you, but if you can make him this happy, you’re doing something right.
The NFL has a new Run Series this season to encourage fans to exercise more (that way you can consume more chicken wings and beer on Football Sundays). Our editor, Ryan McKee, hit up MetLife Stadium this weekend to check it out.
